Postcard Video Creation Project

When Delayed until July Where Inside the TeePee on the Trans Canada Highway. Who Everyone from Riverdale, Crestview, Southridge who can come. It would be nice to have 100 people. Dress As if you are attending a meeting.

The drone pilot needs more time for test flights, more stable weather and an opportunity to provide a sample video (which will be put here).

Purpose

We want to show the world our famous tourist attraction and help them remember the name and location of our city using a short silent postcard video, similar to those shown at the end of each episode of JW Broadcasting.

This 10-second video will give us something to show foreign delegates at the Calgary International Convention, described at jwevent.org.

We will portray ourselves as one congregation: The Medicine Hat, Alberta Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

Example Video

An AI-generated example video. This will soon be replaced by a trial video shot with the drone.

How We Will Do It

We will stand inside the TeePee, on the concrete pad, facing west and waving. Robin Fiddler will film us using his drone. He is a licensed drone pilot. The drone will look down on us and fly upward and away at an angle.

Details

This has been cleared with Tourism Medicine Hat. The TeePee is a public space. They are expecting us and have access to this page to monitor our progress.

However, we must be sensitive to others who might be there. It may also be an opportunity to explain what we are doing.

Parking

There is room for 50-60 cars (if we use our parking organizational skills).

Safety

Children are welcome but must stay with parents because a drone will be operating. Please follow the pilot’s instructions and stay clear of the drone during takeoff and landing.

Privacy Consent

Attendance means you will likely be visible in the final video.

Getting a Copy of the Video

This page will disappear after the video is shot. This url will point directly at the silent MP4 file. You can thus put a QRCode pointing to it on gifts for delegates. Since the 5-10 second file will only be a few megabytes in size, it will also be easy to download.
